St. John's Ealing

This weeks news

  • Starting this week off with another sporting accolade, this time 14 year 3/4  children won the AVSSP dodge ball competition at Alfreton Leisure Centre on Thursday. Well done year 3 & 4 - I don't think you've lost a contest all year!
  • Mr Cates has been distributing his PRIDE badges in full force this week, with Rudi F in Shrewsbury Class receiving his Bronze Badge, and Grace T and Lillie T in Hilton class earning their Silver awards. Well done to you all - the PRIDE badges aren't easily earned, and to do so shows real determination and hard work.
  • Miss Jones has received some superb homework from the year 4 homework grid over the last 2 weeks, she's asked to give a special mention to Layla R for her beautifully detailed drawing of a Pyramid and to Megan M for her Lego model of the Giza Pyramids - we love the imagination and different materials the children use to interpret their homework tasks.
  • Thank you for your continued donations of plastic drinks bottles, please keep them coming - we currently have 400 of the 1500 required, Miss Vardy and Miss Gregory met with Amber Valley Rotary Club this week who are helping to make our challenge of creating a greenhouse from a waste product a reality.

and finally,

  • Planning permission was granted this week for us to install a MUGA (multi use games area) which will be sited next to the top playground. The MUGA will create a dedicated sports area for the children to use at break and lunch times as well as for PE and sports competitions. Our hope is that construction will start in Spring.
