Now that many of our Y6s are back in school, new home learning will be posted here every Wednesday afternoon as our staff are back in class with greater numbers of children. For Y6, activities will be aimed at supporting their transition to secondary school; some of these activities are lovely no matter which year group you're looking forward to in September though so feel free to have a peep! There will be transition activities from the 15th July for all year groups though.
Hopefully everyone has collected their CGP books by now - if not, please call into the school office. For Y3 and 4, there are new English and Maths books. Y5 will be looking at Science this term and for Y6 there are packs so that you can put together your own yearbook whilst at home. The Y6s in school have enjoyed looking at the photographs that Mrs Elwen has sorted for each of you - some of you used to be so sweet ... : )
Please also continue with your regular reading, maths (see the Maths at home page) and writing activities (Pobble) using the links to the right.
The links to this week's learning projects are below.
If your child (or you!) fancies something different, there are links to some outdoor art activities at the bottom of the page.

Year 6 Transition - Week 4 Activities
Feedback from teachers, the children in school and some of you at home continues to be generally positive about both BBC Bitesize Daily lessons and the Oak National Academy online resources.
The former seems to work better as a resource to dip into whilst the second offers a more structured 'timetabled' approach with daily English and Maths (which could be used to supplement White Rose Maths) and weekly History (called Humanities on the website), Art, Music and Spanish lessons.
Having looked in some detail at the Oak National Online resources, our suggestion would be that you don't be overly influenced by the year groups and instead choose an area that interests your child or you as a family. For example, there's a great topic on the Shang Dynasty (something we don't cover in school) that's aimed at Y2 but would be of interest to many children.
The Oak National Online Academy has been heavily funded by the Government and well-supported by technical specialists allowing them to share such high quality resources; the teachers involved, though, have given their time voluntarily and we'd like to say how much it is appreciated.
