Class Twitter Pages
It’s been great to speak to so many of you over the phone or when you were collecting new CGP home learning books – and feedback from you suggests you’ve enjoyed speaking to us too! It’s also been lovely to see photographs of learning at home – from creating rainbows to cooking dinner to daily exercising – on Twitter.
We know that contact with people outside our own homes is going to be increasingly important the longer this situation goes on so have been thinking of how we can increase opportunities for contact between us. We don’t want to lose our Riddings Junior School sense of community just because we’re apart.
Obviously we have the texting service which has been a lifeline and we’re still here on the end of the phone but we thought we’d extend our use of Twitter into class pages too. This gives you another option for keeping in touch either publicly via the Twitter feed or privately through Direct Messaging.
Twitter is a free, easy-to-use way to share messages and pictures as those of you who follow us at @RiddingsJnr already know but we are setting a few rules or expectations to support all of us.
Twitter has a user age of 13 and above so our children should not have their own account. The class groups are intended to keep us in contact with our families not with individual children.
Class groups won’t follow parents back (so the rest of your Twitter feed will remain private!)
Teachers retain the right to block and report anyone who behaves in an inappropriate manner or who makes them feel uncomfortable.
Teachers who are rota-ed to work from home will check their class Twitter feed Monday to Friday between 12 – 1 and 3:45 – 4:15; teachers working in school will check as and when they can
Teachers are happy to receive direct messages and will either respond themselves or forward your message to another member of staff if it is more appropriate for them to respond.
We’d love it if you could follow us!
Search using our @names and apologies for the slightly different formats – they were assigned by Twitter : )
You’re welcome to follow all of us but as we’re following each other, you’ll see everything we post, share or retweet any way!
